Terms of Service

Effective 2026-08-01 · Replaces the 2026-07-01 draft · Contract between you and JustSMTP Inc.

The short version: we relay your transactional email through Amazon SES; you send only mail your recipients expect; we bill by monthly volume and never touch message bodies after delivery. The long version follows, and the long version wins.

01The service

justsmtp provides an SMTP relay for transactional email. We accept messages over authenticated SMTP at smtp.justsmtp.com, verify the sending domain belongs to your account, and hand messages to our upstream infrastructure provider for delivery.

Send-only: we do not receive, host or forward inbound email, and we publish no MX records for customer domains.

02Accounts

Authentication is by login link to your account email. You are responsible for the mailbox that receives those links and for every SMTP credential pair minted under your account. Credentials are shown once at creation; we store only a one-way hash.

03Acceptable sending

Transactional and expected mail only. The full policy is the Acceptable Use document, which is part of these terms. In brief, you must not send:

  • unsolicited bulk email, purchased lists, or "re-engagement" campaigns to stale addresses;
  • content that is unlawful in your jurisdiction or the recipient's;
  • mail from domains you do not control.

Sustained bounce or complaint rates materially above network norms may result in throttling first, suspension second. We contact you before suspending unless abuse is active.

04Your data

Message bodies exist in memory during relay and are not retained after the upstream provider accepts them. The activity log keeps envelope metadata, the subject line, delivery events and upstream SMTP responses, for the retention window of your plan (7, 30 or 90 days). The Privacy Policy sets out what that means in detail.

05Billing

Plans are billed monthly in advance by send volume. Sends beyond your quota are refused with a temporary failure (SMTP 452) rather than billed as overage. Upgrades take effect immediately; downgrades at the next renewal.

06Availability

The service is provided with commercially reasonable effort. On paid tiers we target 99.9% monthly availability of the SMTP endpoint; Enterprise agreements carry a written SLA with service credits.

07Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability in any twelve-month period is limited to the fees you paid us in that period. We are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, including lost profits or lost data.

08Changes

We may update these terms with 30 days' notice by email to your account address. Continued sending after the effective date is acceptance. If you do not accept, stop sending and we will refund any prepaid, unused period.
